Amazing!

The show went sooo well! We had a great turnout, and everything went super smoothly, minus a couple of glitches (super stinky broccoli that had to be removed immediately, and me not printing enough business cards. *sigh* I guess it's a good sign that they were all gone though, right?) My paper dolls were a hit, and I was worried that people would be afraid to play with them, but obviously, why would I spend so much time cutting them out (which by the way, required three different cutting devices to get into all of the tiny folds) if I didn't want them to be played with. But adults and children were changing their clothes all night! Yay!

My poor parents who flew all the way from Florida were so sick that my Dad ended up napping in the car, and my mother sounded like Marge Simpson all night. It was great to see my family and friends, and I met some really sweet people. I sold two of my pieces as well!It was amazing. Now I really want to have another show!

Countdown to showtime!

So, the show is all hung, and I love the way my frames look! I'm very excited I went through with using them, because I nearly gave up with all of that math! Now I just need to finish my paper doll project, which means I'll be adhering the dolls to heavy paper, then cutting them out, as well as the clothing. That means three dolls, 3 outfits each. Ooh, my fingers are going to hate me! I also picked up the dessert platter, and I need to go pick up the rest of the food tonight. Plus, I need to finish two more projects by Tuesday! Oh, boy, this will be one crazy weekend. I am so excited to see the family and friends that are coming tomorrow, including my parents who flew in from Florida. I wonder if the airport is full of people wearing swine flu masks. Okay, now back to work.

Almost there

Goodness, I am so tired! I had a productive day, I have finally finished printing and matting all of my pieces for my art show, which involved way too much math for my artist's brain. Yeesh. Thankfully, my other half comes equipped with a more mathematically oriented brain, and he lent me a much needed hand. My pieces look so fancy, I can't wait to see them all up in the gallery!

Now I'm off to get some rest, perhaps a nice cup of tea before bed. Mmmm...

I hope tomorrow is as successful as today was.

First Post

So, this will be my very first blog, and I hope I get the hang of it quickly. I plan to use this as an area to display my sketches, artwork, illustrations and other experiments. Here we go!
